With recent technological advances it’s almost impossible to not notice the impact of social media! Some people don’t like social media, which is okay. And some people do. As a business owner or independent contractor, social media should be more important to you and here’s why:

Growing your brand awareness

Social media makes it easy to spread the word about your products and mission. For example, if you’re a Realtor social media helps you stay in touch with old clients and lets them share how much they loved having you walk them through the steps of buying their home!

Increasing traffic

Using social media and linking it to your website will increase your traffic and spread the word about your products and mission. At first that might not seem like that big of a deal, but it really is important. Imagine you get 100 visitors a day, at least two of those visitors could become new customers.

Promoting your services and products

You may be asking yourself, “how will social media help me promote my products and services?” Well, Social media is one of the TOP marketing tools out there! You just gotta know how to use it.

Keep in touch

Social media is how everyone keeps in touch. “Tina from high school that you haven’t seen in 15 years just posted about her daughter graduating at top of her class.” Social media isn’t just for your old friends from childhood but for past (and future) customers too!

You get to know more about your audience

Knowing who your talking to is very important when it comes to being an entrepreneur. Having a specified buying persona allows you to lock onto who you’re talking to. Social media gives you information such as their demographics, passions, hobbies, what they need, and how they communicate. It also gives them a voice so if something went wrong with your business, you’re able to fix it right away!
